CFM was formed with the amalgamation of Atlantic Quality & Technical Services Limited (AQTS), Atlantic NDT Inc. and Custom Fabricators & Machinists (CFM).

Today, it is an integral member of the J.D. Irving Companies, a diverse, family-owned company with operations in Canada and the United States. Since 1882, J.D. Irving, Limited has been providing quality service and products to customers around the world.
